How this detector works, and its limits

This tool measures writing patterns that are more common in text produced by large language models: very even sentence lengths (low "burstiness"), stock phrases and transitions, few contractions, and long stretches without concrete specifics such as numbers, names or dates. It combines those signals into a score and shows you each one, so you can see why.

No AI detector is reliable enough to prove who wrote something, including this one. OpenAI withdrew its own AI text classifier in 2023 because of its low accuracy. Short texts, edited AI drafts, non-native English and very formal human writing all produce false results. Use the score as a prompt to reread and revise, never as evidence against a person.

What matters for SEO

Google's guidance is that it rewards helpful, original content however it is produced, and treats mass-produced content made mainly to rank as spam. So the useful question is not "does this look AI-written?" but "does this say something specific, accurate and useful that readers cannot get elsewhere?". The signals above double as an editing checklist: vary your sentences, cut filler phrases, and add real numbers, examples and experience.

Frequently asked questions

Is this AI content detector free?

Yes, with no signup and no word limit. The text is analyzed in your browser and never sent to us.

How accurate are AI content detectors?

Not accurate enough to prove authorship. All detectors, including this one, produce false positives and false negatives, particularly on short, edited or very formal text. OpenAI withdrew its own classifier in 2023 for low accuracy.

Does Google penalize AI-generated content?

Not for being AI-generated. Google's guidance is that it rewards helpful, original content however it is made, and treats content mass-produced mainly to manipulate rankings as spam.

How can I make AI-assisted writing better?

Add specifics only you know (numbers, examples, experience), vary sentence length, cut stock phrases, and have someone knowledgeable edit and fact-check it.
